When I bought my buggy the air box was broken and Tomberline is back ordered on them so I'm gonna have to buy a uni and make an intake out of PVC and rubber couplers w/ hose clamps. What I need to know is what size PVC would be the best? I'm thinking 1.5'' schedule 20 about 8'' long with a 4'' uni on the end. Also, the stock exhaust has some surface rust and I'm thinking about sand blasting it and painting with high temperature 1000 degree engine enamel. I figured while I was doing it I would go ahead and cut the tip off and gut the exhaust and then re-weld it back before spraying w/ paint. What size main jet and pilot jet would I need to not lean out? I've only seen main jet kits and I'd like to go ahead and do the pilot as well. I was thinking about a 130 main jet and have no idea what size the pilot jet should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I will post pictures when it is finished and running again.

For the intake just go to your local hardware store and get a 6" sink drain and a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" rubber coupler and set it up to where the carb side of rubber coupler to clamp side of uni measures 6". As for jetting alot of that depends on your location and elevation. With a gutted exhaust I'd be tempted to start around the 132-165 range as it is safer to start out rich rather than lean to dial it in.

are you talking about a sink drain with the 1/8'' holes in it? would I attach a filter to that? If so what kind of filter? a uni im guessing?

go with a 37 or 40 pilot

Johnny jaws where do I find the pilot jets? all I've seen is main jets...EJ Mac, how long should the whole intake system be not including the uni coming from carb?

Also, The stock air box has three places that look like where a vacuum line goes or something. Do I need to drill holes into the coupler to have a place to run the lines? I'll take a few pictures to show you guys what I'm talking about.

start with 130 to 135 jet
after gutting muffler and adding uni
use a 6" pipe for plumbing sinks
no holes
some of your lines can just hang down
i ran all my breather type lines to the top
of my chain guard free lubing for my chain

thanks for all the help. Do I really need to change the pilot jet to make it run correctly?

Sorry for the late response. I should have been a little clearer. Get what they call a 6" 1-1/2" Stainless Sink drain pipe and a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" rubber coupler. Install rubber coupler on the carb and attach the drain pipe to it, then attach you uni. Total length should be 10" from carb side of coupler to end of uni assuming you have the 4" uni.
