I kinda want to buy an FMF slip on exhaust for my buggy, the one that runs. THe one I found is only $120. How's that work? What's a "slip on?" Does it make a difference in performance?

Pretty sure it means you've gotta come up with the pipe from the manlfold and slip the FMF on.

You cut off your old muffler right where the header meets the muffler. Then, slip on the FMF and clamp it down. There are two different universal slip ons. One is 1 and 1/8th and the other is 1 and 1/4. Get the bigger of the two.

So you don't have to re weld anything?

cut your exhaust directly at the muffler
when you mount the slip-on it should
come with a band-type clamp to hold
the muffler in place

One more question about these, do they make a performance difference and what about sound?

Yeah Josh it will help performance because you're totally unrestricting your air flow, it's like complementing the uni filter you already have in place. Now with that said all that unrestricted air flow is gonna be somewhat louder than your stock pipe yes.

jakethesnake is right
will have more rumble due to better airflow
if you gutted your exhaust in the past
it was proubly more noise than the new one
will have

So you don't have to re weld anything?

As long as you get the bigger of the two (I think 1 and 1/4 inch) it should slip on. We got the 1 and 1/8th and it was the same size so we had to re-weld. We always liked that muffler.
