Have a HH Twister z-2150s (originally an KPX xTerro) w/ a GY6 clone 150cc that needs a top end, maybe more. Thinking of completely replacing the engine/ CVT. Would the engine/ CVT froma Honda Elite 150 be a suitable, workable replacement? Can get the whole scooter for less than the cost of a clone engine, and not much more than a top end or even a bog bore kit. Has anyone here done this and can offer advice? Thanks.

I got my current engine for $50. out of a wrecked scooter and it works just fine,I even left the long shaft on it!!!

Was it pretty much a simple remove and replace w/ the elite engine, or were major modifications involved? I would think this is a fairly straightforward swap. What year Elite did you get the motor from, and in what buggy did you put it?

I didn't get the year model-I didn't have to do anything except make a spacer for the bolt holding the sprocket. It's on a Yerfdog spiderbox.

The stock top end kits are cheap and easy to do. Personally, I would do that first.

I'd rather buy the whole product as it comes with other valuable spare parts, but that's only if you can verify that the main part you're after is in great shape. If you can buy a whole scooter for $300. or less you're ahead of the game.Put the running salvaged engine in and take your time rebuilding the bad one while you still have your toy to play with.
