Hey guys. I am a full time North Carolina National Guard technician on Fort Bragg. My wife does admin/acct work, my kids just mooch off my wife and I for the time being.. We have multiple atvs and fun machines. I ride an 06 KFX400, my youngest daughter 12 rides a 10 Honda rancher (her choice) we also have a 97 Polaris Xpress, and the final piece the 06 or 07 Roketa GK-01 my oldest daughter 15 rides.... We love to ride our machines, except the wife. We ride 3-4 times a week...

So what's the problem with the Roketa?

So what's the problem with the Roketa?

The typical spit and sputter under full throttle. It has been sitting for maybe a month. The carb is less than a year old but I am going to pull it off and clean it out. I have not checked spark or the plug yet.

I noticed yesterday that it is jerking when it first starts off, so I am going to peek into the transmission. I would love to get the 180cc big bore kit off ebay for this thing, but what can I do to the transmission to make it a little quicker or responsive? My oldest daughter is a speed freak and she wants it to be fast. I would like it to run about 45-50 tops with me feeling under control still.

I agree-cleaning the carb is the first place I'd go to eliminate suspects for the spit and sputter issue.Inspecting the CVT is the correct procedure with it jerking at take-off- possibly slipping belt(smell of rubber), flat sided rollers is the next thing I'd look for. Have you done any mod's to it yet? There are MANY posts you can research here and a Buggymaster vid on the mods for the CVT that make a noticable difference.

You're going to have a hard time achieving 45-50 mph without losing your hill climbing ability with this engine even in high tune. Expect a good pulling GY6 to do about 35-40 mph.

How about the 180cc kit on fleabay for 450??? Is that a legit kit or should I plan on doing less. My daughter is p%%%ed at me now cause now the darn fuel tank has a leak. ARGH I cannot win with this machine, one thing after another. I think I am going to rewire some of it.. Oh well I will be really working on this thing on the 26th for sure.....

Keep in mind that when you start getting that big of a bore, it's a lot of work to get it right. You have to split that case to handle the bore. That kit likey contains those case halves but consider what it takes to use them.

I dont think I want to do that. It may be too much for my daughter. I do need advice on what to do to get some more power out of it. If it runs 30-35 mph I will be happy and I think she will too. I am going to take the carb down and clean it today then get a uni filter and maybe incorporate a slip on exhaust to the exhaust on this thing.. Nevermind, it is smoking OIL out the exhaust so the rings are gone I think...

Well, I pulled the carb off and found most of my problem.. I cleaned it very well. I had a bolt missing in the airbox on this thing, it let dirt in behind the airfilter, so there was a mess in mah brand new carb. Oil is gone again, not even touching the stick. (have to keep my eye on it) Dropped the fuel tank and sure as hell it split a little around the mounting bracket so I have to fix a leak on the tank now.. CRAP !!! I cant win for losing with this thing..:lmao::lmao:
