manco red fox ?

new to this site and new to go karts.i own and have owned many 3 wheelers , atv's,and snowmobiles but at the age of 32 just picked up my first go kart.i think it is a manco brand machine and it called a red fox LXT.missing the carb and i guess what should be a clutch or wheel for a belt on the shaft.chain is shot do have the seats just took them off.tires and frame seem to be good just wondering if this thing is worth fixing up.not sure what size engine it pulls over but has been outside uncovered for about a year with the carb off it.so i am guessing its probly beat.i do have a good running craftsman 5hp snowblower engine if its possible to swap them.so i hope with the help of some members on here i can make a decision and what to do with it.

Is it worth fixing up? What are you willing to pay for entertainment?!!!!Kart's not too bad. The bummer is all the expenses on reviving it is missing!!! Your snow blower motor can work- you have to figure out how to make the throttle spring controlled, in it's stock configuration it's designed for a stationary/fixed throttle. Harbor freight sells the 6.5 honda clones pretty cheap(less than $200.on sale closer to $100.) The CVT can be bought for $200. +/-, and the seat could get a slip over the frame type seat cover.

well the motor does have spark.guy i got it from thinks he found the carb and wheel.

I have the same kart for my son. Go to bmi kart get a new throttle cable 5 bucks

will cable work with the craftsman motor i have also or just the one thats on it ?

If and when you get the parts from the guy you got it from take some pics of the engine and CVT set-up, brakes ,ect... and we'll help you re-assemble or tell you if the parts are any good.

The Honda clones will fit but the gas tank is farther forward and may hit the seat.

as for the seat plywood and get some vinyl from hobby lobby.

If you need throttle linkage hooked YouTube has good videos or I can send you pic of mine very easy
or bmi has a kit and it bypasses the govenor
