You could- but why would you want to go narrower & shorter? These karts do so much better with larger tires than the stock ones.

would i have to change hubs/ put spacers if i go with a bigger tire?

There are lots of 8" wheels out there that slide/bolt right on.Most of the time you don't need spacers. Can you post pic's of your Yerfdog? Depending on which model you have I may be able to tell what other karts/buggies have wheels that will work.

i will post some pics soon. i have a yerf dog 3203 with a 6.5 tecumsheh. stock tires are in great shape, they look like ridin lawn mower tires lol! i have been looking around at american power sports, they have a snow hog tire for the front which is a 6inch rim. ? is what would it handle like with a smaller tire in the front?? it has a 15x6.00 now and the snow hog is 13x5

your going to need to measure from the axle center (on the inside of the tire) back to the front corner of the frame to see how much turning clearance you have ---that'll give you your overall wheel diameter. cycle your suspension while you do it to find the shortest distance.

i think josh meant he has the 13" tires now, which are stock on y'dogs, and wants to put 15's on in place of them.
josh, turn your wheels all the way on both directions; you'll notice the front frame corner gets very close to the tire.
that gap is the amount of extra room you have to play with bigger tires unless you space them out.
the stock spindle axle doesnt have more then 1/2" of room for spacers and that won't help much.
