So i have this kart and its going to get sand blasted this weekend, then powder coated after we see what kind of rust damage it has...this is my first attempt at restoring a kart...any helpful hints I should consider?

Thanks

Sounds like you have the right game plan already as the frame is the most important part since you said you have the running Briggs to go back on it.

Less than you'll invest on a decent restoration.
Most kart restos are done for personal satisfaction. If your end game is to sell, and make a profit...'nuff said.

Then me gettting it blasted and powder coated for free is a good thing ;)

Nice little frame...even has rear suspension. I was planning on building my own but found a nice frame on craigslist. I'm surprised how cheap I've seen nice yerfdogs sell for. There was an add yesterday for a yerfdog that need some work and another smaller cart with a 2hp, both for 350 dollars. Nice yerfs have a hard time selling for over 500 dollars. It's a buyers market right now.
