i have owned this kart for close to 10yrs now. it had a briggs 5hp with comet 30 tav. i am building a custom briggs 12hp big block for it. i removed the govenor, i flycut the head .015 for more compression, i have made a custom aluminum intake to run a mikuni 34mm dirt bike carb, and i have a stainless steel and billet white brothers dirt bike muffler for it. i have a comet 40 driver and 44 driven/8" units for it. finished the motor today and starting on the drive unit build up tomorrow. i am ordering a grass cart "hot cam" for the 12hp. with other mods i have made its supposed to be in the 21hp range after cam. i have also put dazon 22x11x10 rear tires and wheels on it/quad sized, and put dazon 21x7x10 front tires and wheels on it/again quad sized. the original rear tires were 21's so gear changing wont be necessary. i will post a pic or two over the next few days.

UPDATE: now will be putting a kohler 22hp twin 1000cc engine on this with a comet 94c driver and fl350 100d driven. front and rear suspension and aluminum wheels and bigger tires.

pics of kenbar sc7b frame and motor. briggs heavily modified 12hp big block horizontal motor. govenor removed, head milled/flycut for more compression, big cam, mikuni 34mm dirt bike carb, white brothers pipe. likely around 21hp now.

not sure yet... but i may put a kohler 22hp twin on this kart instead. with a 94c comet and 100d. go ahead and do the front suspension mods. just thinking about it, have not decided yet. major factor is thinking of putting the modded 12hp on a racing lawn mower my daughter and i are building. still not sure yet.

the kohler is going to go on this one. along with front suspension and maybe rear suspension. 23 tires in front and 25 tires in back on itp aluminum wheels.

If I was you, I would do the suspension before the engines in. You wont be able to use the new power if you cant keep the traction on the ground. And if you mount the engine, then do the rear suspension you did all that work for nothing as it all will be removed and re done

made the engine plate out of 1/4" plate. going to cut the front and rear frame for suspension in the next day or two. am installing the 22hp kohler after i take the govenor out of it.
