So, I was out driving today, enjoyin' the new mods, when I'm on a trail and I want to back up to get a lot of speed. When I shifted into reverse, it felt like the reverse gear slipped, as in, one of the teeth on the gear is broken. It would go in reverse, but then it would slip, then catch again. I haven't put it in reverse since because I'm afraid I'll break something. What's happening?

Did you check the reverse cable. It may need to be adjusted if you bought your buggy new I would bet that the cable stretched and when your putting it in reverse its not going all the way in gear. You may need to take up a little of the slack

Likely the reverse cable adjustment HOWEVER...these things are kinda bad about breaking that reverse lever thing that sits on the transmission. In fact, thata was the only problem we ever had with our Carbide. I suspect yours may have crapped out. Get a flashlight and look at the piece that the cables attach to in the back and make sure it isn't cracked.

If it is, the replacement pieces are pretty cheap and are actually made out of metal and shouldn't break.

Do you mean the metal bracket that holds the gear selector cables on?
