Redneck MK. II Project

Okay, I made a redneck intake from PVC pipe and installed it on my 30mm pumper. I wasn't really happy with PVC as a material as the pipe wall thickness eats away at space better used for airflow. Secondly, the size of the flexible couplings was bigger than I really needed (just need airtight not pressure sealed to 3 zillion psi of water pressure). So, I realize I'm probably late to the game as far as sourcing materials, but I found a company that will custom cut metals and plastics (pipe, tube, sheet) for what I consider reasonable prices and ordered some aluminum tubes to try out.

Tube A: 2" OD x 0.035" wall x 1.93" ID 6061-T6 aluminum 6" cut

Tube B: 1.875" OD x 0.058" wall x 1.759 ID 6061-T6 aluminum 6" cut

Price: about $30 with shipping.
I'll throw the link up if anyone is interested and they have an affiliate plan if Buggymaster has any interest in that.

Oh, and i got the tubes in two days.

I was going to suggest using thin aluminum or steel tubing off ebay, and a couple silicone couplers. Thats the way I'm heading with mine. Trying to decide whether to add the crankcase vent to the intake tube or vent it through a separate filter.

Oh! silicon couplers! I didn't even think of those.. I got the tubes from onlinemetals.com. I reduced the pilot jet to a #35 and the main to a #138 and she's running nice. Although I have a 59mm BBK and 4 valve head on the way, so a re-jet is in the future..

Finished...Until the new jug and racing 4 valve head get here..and while i have the case apart, might as well throw in a Dr. Pulley full CVT upgrade.. I CAN STOP ANYTIME I WANT, I SWEAR!!!!! Oh, and Sycarms has me pondering these naughty suspension upgrades...

Looks nice. I like the outer wear. Have been debating about getting one.
It would save me bringing an exta filter on riding trips.
