Help please!

I have a 150cc Carbide and it is sometimes hard to get started and once it is started it idals great but once i get going i only get up to (if im lucky) 20mph. im supposed to be goin around 50mph. it sounds like its not getting enough gas and it keeps like staling in and out when im driving. its weird because when i turn left it doesnt get any gas, when i go straight it goes on and off and when i take right turns it runs perfect. please help! im so lost and everyone i ask has no clue so this is my last resort... PLEASE HELP ME! :banghead:

i bought it last summer. it has 200 miles but i think that thing is screwed up, prolly less, and it started doing this before i stored it for the winter

I would start with a valve adjustment check your spark plug and see if it is white or black. Also check your in line fuel filter alot of these are installed up side down from the factory. There is a arrow on it that should be pointing to the carb not the gas tank.My filter was clogged with little plastic shavings.

spark plug is white (lean) and the in line filter is the right way and i adjusted the valves but just nothing will work

check the float setting in your carb bowl. from what you describe, it sounds like the float is set to low and won't allow the carb to fill with enough fuel.
Remove the carb, then remove the float bowl. hold the carb up side down and hold it level . Sight across the edge where the rubber gasket sets. The float should be level with the edge. If the float is tilted one way or another, there is the tab and hook that connects it to the needle valve. carfully bend the tab to set the float straight. Do not push down on the needle valve! Remove the float to make adjustments by sliding the pin out that holds the float in place. It's very simple to do, just observe how it all goes together before removing the pin. The parts, [4 pieces] all are very small so do this over a clean towel so nothing gets lost.
There are tons of pics all over the web showing this. do a search for a Kehin 24mm. the carb you have is probably a clone but the settings and parts are the same.

Do what ckau said and these buggys come jetted lean from the factory if you have the carb apart you should go to a 128 or 130 main jet.I would also get rid of the vacuum petcock and replace it with a manual one step up to 1/4inch fuel line.

speedracer 03-25-2010 07:44 PM

ok i will try

speedracer 03-25-2010 07:45 PM

wait. what do i do with the hoses coming out of the carb for the suction in the vaccum petcock if i get a manual one

PAbuggy 03-25-2010 09:04 PM

You eliminate them and run a hose from the intake to the carb.
