Price to forum members is $1,300. I'll trailer it up to 100 miles one-way for $1,500. Locally, I'm asking a lot more.

That is one interesting buggy. Do you have the link to it's build? Thanks X

Wish i had the chance to really ride it a couple times. snow's too deep here and is quickly going to make a huge muddy mess for the next month and a half. Test rode on frozen ground with no snow pre-paint with no brakes, floor, seatbelts or carb tune and I was having a blast. had no problem kicking the back end out around the turns and couldn't get near full speed because of the brakes not being installed.

build thread below has most of the work in it and a vid.
About 10 laps in the snow, a couple laps in the vid at the end of the build thread. despite digging at least a foot of cover off and packing it down with the deere, the snow was heavy and still 6 inches to a foot deep and just shredded out and made it tough to get any speed going.

It really needs the 22" tires front i have for it, it'd give it that extra bit of clearance up front, put the camber were i designed it and makes it look much better balanced front to rear. just don't have the cash to get a set of 10 inch rims for them

Seems too cheap for all the time you invested into that one. I'm sure you'll have no problem with the sale.

When i first started messing with upgrading the 3203, the wheels began turning about resto-modding backyard karts and buggies for resale as a winter side biz since my biz is mostly seasonal. After repeatedly rebuilding the rockhound i realized there'd be no money in it to cover the labor. Materials expense to clean old used metal and repaint it eats up what you could gain for some of your labor. This project really proved the point to me, but since i had all the elements sitting right there and had the time I did itsince i knew i'd need the money. original cost of all the parts a few years ago plus hardware, materials and electricity is not too far off what i'm asking. what little over that is left = about $1-2 per hour labor return. I make more money per hour crushing soda cans.

good luck with the sale x looks like a good build

It boils down to be nothing more than labor of love

x-bird 03-12-2015 10:34 PM

yep.

RacingDreamz 03-24-2015 01:22 AM

If we had the funds, we'd be all over that. Good looking buggy.

SYCARMS 03-25-2015 08:49 AM

How are you doing with Racing Dreams??

RacingDreamz 03-25-2015 11:59 AM

Struggling.... :( Otherwise, pretty good. :)

SYCARMS 03-25-2015 12:32 PM

Seems to be that way all over.

RacingDreamz 03-25-2015 04:24 PM

Really. You doing alright? It's been a long time. :)

SYCARMS 03-26-2015 06:58 AM

Hanging in there, it's a day by day operation today.:cussing: I'm seriously considering going into undertaking. It seems today healthcare and funeral care are taking off to new highs since the AHCA took affect along with the crappy economy. Those seem to be the only industries with a great future. I'm figuring cremation would have the least overhead and with already having an FFL I'll be efficient with the regulatory paperwork.:D

RacingDreamz 04-10-2015 11:26 PM

Buggy ever sale?

SYCARMS 04-11-2015 12:23 AM

Not many these days.

x-bird 04-11-2015 06:40 AM

Hi Racing, no, still have it.

Weather's been lousy up here so it hasn't been outside with the for sale sign (I live on a prime heavy traffic road) in over a week and with it being as cold and wet as it has been, not many buyers in the hunt for toys on CL.
Thinking about sitting it up at my mini golf now that i've got that open. But I hate the thought of too many people and kids messing around on it when I can't keep an eye on it.

liduno 04-11-2015 08:15 AM

Put it on a pedestal at the mini golf and raffle it off.

RacingDreamz 04-11-2015 11:53 AM

Mini Golf? You need a racing simulator in that place. ;)

x-bird 04-11-2015 05:46 PM

Got an entire arcade to deal with already ...and laser tag .. and indoor blacklight mini golf ...adding gemstone mining system next week ... i think i have enough electrical/electronic devices to deal with at the moment ... )

A raffle isn't a bad idea, but i can't do it at the biz.

Wonder if i could CL, FB and forum enough entries to make it work??? Paypal to enter, videotaped drawing ... hmmmmmmmmmm ....

RacingDreamz 04-11-2015 06:34 PM

You're making it hard to trade with you, man. :)

I can't compete with that. :)

x-bird 04-12-2015 08:09 AM

pile of bills and nothing in the bank ... Sold the 250 out of the rockhound 2 days ago and that money will likely go into the house and not the new engine.

zman007007 04-12-2015 02:45 PM

save that money, you don't need no stinking house, you can live at the mini golf place. lol

x-bird 04-12-2015 07:56 PM

what do you all think, if i ran a raffle at $20 an entry and 6 entries for $100. i'd need to hit 75 single entries or 15 stumping up for the 6-entry deal.
Who'd toss in?
Long distance winner would be out $3-500 probably to ship it mid to fully cross country.
uploading a ride video from today, sunny day, ground fairly dried out, i couldn't resist a few laps. got near top speed one time. I'll put it here when yucktube finishes.

Good for you, it looked really cool.

RacingDreamz 05-23-2015 07:49 PM

Traded for a Porsche 914. :)

x-bird 05-23-2015 10:48 PM

only a 914-6 ..with a turbo ...
going to a good home on an installment plan, they get it when it's paid in full. hard working laborer type guy from my old home area is going to surprise his sons with it, they made honor roll.

liduno 05-24-2015 05:30 AM

You got a Porsche for your buggy? That's awesome..lol

ummm, set a 7/16ths aircraft cable between 2 stout poles at 6 inches high, hit it at 50 with that and half the rusto is done ...
