sputtering problems

My 150 gy6 baja reaction sputters when I give it gas. I've adjusted the valves, changed sparkplug, spark plug boot. It has spark. Starts up good idles good but when I accelerate it it sputters like a fouled plug or a rev limiter. Could it be the stator. I bought the buggy used 3 years ago and never changed the stator, cdi, nor regulator. Any suggestion would be nice thanks in advance.

Also can a bad stator cause my battery to go dead frequently. That too is happening?

Forgot to mention I also put a new carb. In it. Its getting fuel and everything.

The coil could be breaking down. Or the primary wires (small wires) may be loose. Make sure the connectors are tight on the spade terminals of the coil.

When you say coil you mean the sparkplug wire? I will check that thanks.

I also have the HD. Orange coil. Its only a year old.

Check the wires that go to the coil. I am not referring to the spark plug wire. There is a positive wire and a ground wire. They are small wires, unlike the thick spark plug wire. If the connections are loose the coil cannot get the voltage it needs to fire the plug at high rpm.

Gotcha thanks

Checked all loose wires inside black box. This problem started with my old carb. That's why I bought a new one. So I'm thinking stator? Can't be the valves cause she has no problem starting nor idling. Valves are set at .005/.005.... anyone thanks.
