VM26 questions

Got a VM26 on the way, got a couple questions:
here's the carb's jetting as delivered..
Round Slide VM Series Carburetor by Mikuni
Bore Size : 26
Main Jet : 190
Pilot Jet : 22.5
Needle Jet : O-0(332
Throttle Valve : 1.5
Jet Needle : 5E75
Air Jet : 0.5
Needle Valve : 2.5 (VM26/26)
I'm at sea level, will i need to adjust this for my 4V 155cc GY6?

Will i still need the riser or will this fit under the bar without it?

Not sure where you got it from but it is most likely set up for a bike. You will have to put it on to see how it performs then go from there. If you have never messed with the slide carb I would read up on how to tune. Unlike the cv carbs these slides are more tunable and more involved then the cv carbs, but once you get it tuned it will be right on. I have the VM 34 on my 150 single. I run a 200 main but that is on a highly modified engine. I ordered my carb from CPW so I had someone to pick their brain as to how to get the carb in the ballpark, then I just had to fine tune it. I do know at one time someone on the other forum was making a spacer for the Mikuni. I believe that since it is longer the spacer will be needed to clear the engine. I was using the 30mm performance intake which sets at a greater angle compared to the stock manifold and had no clearance problems from the engine but had to raise my fuel tank a few inches to clear it.

Thanks Sycarms, yeah, I figured it'll be a bit of work to get it dialed in, but will work better than the "pumper".. Plus I enjoy my garage time! :)

Any suggestions for the new throttle cable?

How long is your current throttle cable end to end.

looks to be about 72 inches

it's been a while but i think i'm running a 180 main and i forget the pilot but it's a little fatter than the 22.5.
for the cable the yerf has a rod so that made it easier to figure something out. i have 46" slide cables with a clevis on the other end so i made a tab for the rod. i have the same cable setup on my 400.

I cheated and ground the stock CV throttle cable (drum end that goes into the carb) down until it was accepted into the Mikuni carb.
