My Christmas List... what to ask for?
Lately, my parents keep asking me where my Christmas list is? Truth be told, I really haven't even thought about it at all yet this year. With tomorrow being the first of December, and only twenty four days of shopping left, I thought, maybe I should give them a list if I plan on getting something other than the normal socks, t-shirt, and so on. So what to ask for? buggy parts of corse! So, I was looking at the three high performance clutches at ****. I saw the Dr. Pulley Hit clutch at 250 smacks, the Koso Delta racing clutch at 150 smacks, and the no-name GY6 racing clutch at $90. My question is, what makes the different clutches worth various amounts of $. What makes the Dr. Pulley Hit clutch worth $250? and the other ones at other amounts? Is there a big performance difference among them? If I get one of the high performance clutches, should I pair it up with a new clutch bell as well? Any help with this would be nice. Thanks.

I can't say that I have ever brought myself to spend the smackaroos for a perf clutch. Mike from **** should be chiming in here.
|
LOL, alright then... MIKE! (echo, echo, echo) Where are you?
|
Ummm... I was watching a movie!
Depending on your budget.... LOL. The $85 clutch is a step up from the stock clutch. It's got heavier clutch arms for pretty rapid engagement and bigger clutch pads than stock for more surface area when it's engaged with the bell. It's kind of "medium performance": nothing spectacular, but better than stock. I'm actually in the process of phasing it out in favor of he Koso clutch. This is a really nice clutch. Solid construction and has a really cool tunable feature with these little weights that it comes with. It has all the tools and instructions in the box. The clutch pads extend almost the entire length of the clutch arms and look to be of a very good quality material. This is a very very good mid-high range clutch. The Dr Pulley is a top of the line clutch that has all the benefits of the Koso clutch (good quality construction, large clutch pads running the length of the clutch arm made of high quality materials), but has an additional mechanism on the back of it that will rotate into place once the clutch arms are engaged with the bell. This mechanism LOCKS the clutch arms to the bell and means that as long as your RPMs are up the clutch bell will be engaged and no slippage. You can really FEEL how securely the clutch is engaged especially when accelerating and climbing hills under load. All of this is tuneable on the Dr Pulley using the 10 sets of included springs. The Dr Pulley clutches we currently have are all designed specifically for buggies as opposed to the other ones which are made for scooters but can be used in the buggies. Hope this helps... |
Thanks for the help Mike. You really made me want to ask for the Hit clutch, but I'm 98.47298% sure my parents are not going to drop $250 on a clutch. Maybe I should just rule the whole clutch thing out and look for something else.

OK. On one of our HP laptops, the video card fried. HP said they would fix it, but they didn't. I'll post a longer story later.

|

|
My mom has a mac and my dad has a mac and macbook. I have played around on them, but I don't like them near as much as I do PCs. That's mainly just because I have grown up on PCs.
|
yeah me too laptops get confusing
|
only macs
|
yeah i could agree on that on what ive heard about them
|
lol they can take some getting used to! I like them for their video editing, music, and photo program. And the fact that they dont get viruses. But yea, If I was you I'd ask for a big bore kit and some 10g sliders. ( I forget if you have them already)

And even more specifically than PCs, IE, internet explorer. On top of that, IE is slow, lots of viruses are targeted towards it (because it's the most used), and I don't like the way it's set up. That's why I only use Safari.

That said, you can get lots of power if you do it right! |
Nice to hear Mike! Its cool that such a big mod can be that affordable. Hopefully I'll be stroking out my subaru with the help of one of the guys that helped create their karting engine. And when I get my buggy hopefully I'll be buying that from you.
And Josh, My teacher told me wrong then lol... Im using Firefox... Nothing so far,but my computer is 7 years old. It's time for something with some better technology for me haha. |

Technically yes, there are viruses exist that target the Mac OS. Exactly ZERO of them can infect you unless you intentionally install them.
The newer Mac OS's require you to enter an admin's password when installing any software that can affect the system. In other words, the virus has to ASK to be installed and you have to say Yes by entering the password. If you're dumb enough to do that, then you deserve any viruses and their consequences you get :) |

how is the trojan going to get on the computer if you aren't downloading and installing something that you had to enter the password for?
As I said, "If you're dumb enough to do that, then you deserve any viruses and their consequences you get " Don't download and install ANYTHING you don't know or trust the source of... and your friends are NEVER a good source! |
You can get trojans just by going to the wrong sites.
|
Try it on a Mac and see how that .exe fails
