2006 carter 150 swap

I have a 2006 carter 150cc one seater and Im starting to have issues with it so I want to swap it for a 250cc. I've been looking at Honda CN250 motors from helix scooters. I know i'll have to do fabrication. my question is what to look for on these ebay motors?

heres a link to a cn250 im looking at. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-97-hond...dXSHjK&vxp=mtr

what other options do I have? I know I want a automatic or CVT but I don't know much about them. what engines can I put a CVT on?

That CN250 ebay link only says it was pulled from a 97 scooter. It doesn't tell you the mileage or hours. It also doesn't state anywhere that it actually ran/runs either.
If it was me,I'd probably just keep it simple and use another GY6 150 on your Carter, but I do understand wanting more power too. And I understand that if you're going to have to change the engine anyways, why not?
It's just I've seen some 250cc buggies on Craigslist that only cost around $500-$700 more than the engine your looking at. By the time you buy the harness, radiator, CDI, regulator, hoses, and other odds and ends, plus your time having to fabricate everything... I believe you would come out cheaper with just buying a 250cc buggy. And less aggravated.
Now if you were going to swap to a much larger engine like a 400-500cc Polaris.....

a 400cc sounds fun. what should I look for? i'm going to look at a 580cc snowmobile engine tomorrow. heres a link to a brake kit. would this fit my go kart and would it be a good upgrade?

I'm not sure about that brake kit, that's above my pay grade. Don't know the length your lines should be, or if those will bolt onto your original mounts. I never even seen a single seater Carter buggy, except on the interwebz. You'll probably need some else to confirm that.
But it does look like a standard 150-250cc buggy brake kit.
