Hello from South Jersey

Just wanted to properly introduce myself, my name is Sal, I'm 51 and just got back into the buggy scene, I'm a orphan from NEBA, and was a member when they were first starting out, I even held a rally/bbq at my place one year (to my neighbors disapproval) good bunch of guys which I still stay in touch with some of them (the rally was 10 years ago) I've recently acquired a Yerf Dog GX150 that needs some love, has about $600 worth of add ins and misc. Performance parts but has had a rough life, so I'm going to resurrect it utilizing the installed parts some of which were installed incorrectly, and fix some of the rig jobs that were performed on it. Hopefully it wont be too long before it's a "running project" that I can ride while I'm doing the much needed work that she needs...unfortunately the first issue was the lift kit that was installed badly on the front suspension and wore out all the A arms and bushings it had the heavy duty ball joint kit installed on it but they were not tightened down properly and worn the ends of the A arms out, which one broke...so I'm going thru the entire buggy to make sure it's right. Fun times ahead...lol

Yep, that was me...the rally was around '09 we even were making a buggy trail up in Rouch Creek offroad park, but everything kinda fell apart...I guess life got in the way, but I'm back in the game again, a long with a couple of the other "orphans" time to make a go of it again...picked up the YD on a trade deal, I kinda got the short end of the stick but I'm in it now, my fault for not looking it over better, but shes got good bones, so I got my work cut out for me, but this isn't my first rodeo...lol

In 2008 everything drastically changed in the buggy world. Distributors and dealers dropped like flies and people stopped buying. The Buggy Bash would have 100 people attend but today around 25 people show up.

I've noticed a renewed interest in buggies, when I washed out and sold my buggies ( I had 3 at one point) I didnt get anything for them, and took a big hit as far as resale, now I noticed that people are scooping up junk for $5-600 bucks, that's why I kinda jumped on this one, I figured with all the upgrades it had if I had to do some work on it I really didnt mind, I didnt realize how deep the rabbit hole actually went...so here I am starting another project, I think with careful planning and some TLC she will be as good as new when I'm done, I was kinda hoping for s driver while I worked on it but it didnt work out that way, I wanted the thing to be safe while I was riding it, so I need to address a few issues before I can take her out with any confidence.

Appreciate it JD, I watch your vids all the time, the sound system was awesome! I'm just taking my time and going thru this YD and making it right, first major mod I wanna do is a reverse kit once I get her up and running decent and some of the kinks worked out.

Really like the ammo cans mounted to the rear rack. May have to use that idea on mine. Nice looking buggy.
