New Helix 150
Does anyone know hoewto lower the engagement rpm (to get the kart moving) on this so that the engine does not have to rev so high?
I do't need high performance or a hole shot, just smooth and quiet. Would appreciate any tips- Winterbuggy |
most dont rev real high before moving. if its a new buggy and under warranty might want to have them check the clutch, I have seen the arms stick

See that screw in the carb with the spring on it? You need to put the buggy in neutral and start your engine. Then listen to the idol speed and pull that screw out until it idols where you want it to. Just use a cross tip screw driver.

As Big E said you've got something going on in your clutch or variator if you are revving really high before moving souns like it may be stuck in high gear.

Thank you, - I will check the clutch arms.
Much appreciate, Winterbuggy |
Did it always do this or is this something new?

The more we ride it, the lower the engagement becomes. This cart sat for a year before we got it.

So, the more you drive it, the more RPMs it takes?

I think winter is saying the more they use it, the better the engagement gets. if this is true then there is a rust/ glaze build-up on the clutch bell that is getting worn off with use. A 120 grit emory cloth to polish the clutch surface in the bell and a fresh belt will probably bring it back to the normal engagement rpm

Yes, I agree. Some cleanup and lube may be need for a cart that sat so long.
Thanks, Winterbuggy |
