CVT Exhaust to Air Intake? Anybody try it?

Just a stupid idea popped into my head. I misread a post and thought somebody came up with a sort of air induction by connecting the CVT exhaust to the carb intake. Then I thought... hmmm... could that actually work? The variator has a fan, which does push a lot of air out through the exhaust. Wonder if there is a way to harness that and make some sort of forced air into the carb?

I'm nobody's idea of a mechanic, but it seems to be a bad idea especially if something goes wrong in the CVT (clutch debris, belt chunks, etc) for what might end up having little or no gain.

The air inside your CVT is very warm/hot. You want cold air going into your motor not hot. This is just my thought only.

Here is a thread I had with a similar thought.
Except my threads is about keeping cvt cool.
I think wild bob hit the nail on the head, but with a filter you never know.
I think the best option with that thought is to still use your air scoop with maybe a shop vac tube with an in line uni inside that hose going from scoop directly to carb.

As much as I like MOAR POWER!!, I feel obligated to stop you. Like bob said, cvt failures are not uncommon, and you really don't want that inside your engine. Eddie mentioned hot air, also not a great idea. Best bet is to use a UNI type filter, and route something up high, but not so long as to restrict air movement. Also, something to think about, is a velocity stack/horn type intake tube. That helps shove more air into the carb and increases the movement of said air, a.k.a-increased velocity. I am currently looking for something along those lines for my yerf project, will likely go a couple sizes bigger on the tube and filter, and then transition down with silicone couplers to the carb throat and blend the opening to match.

Nuff said.... kill this thread.

Just a wild idea that I figured didn't have a leg to stand on anyhow... but nice to hear people chime in with good info.

The 250cc buggies come stock with the carb inlet connected to the cvt cover
