Fan on the DZ1P57QMJ

Hey,

I had some issues finding the right Head for this engine as it uses a taller head. It's about 73mm. But I finally found one and in the process of installing. I couldn't find my feeler gauge so stopped there and figured I'd check the condition of the belt. I found that the side casing had silicone all the way around it and two washers stacked as spacers. I got it open and this engine has an aluminum fan mounted with the center bolt. I'm not sure if this was original or not as some fins were broken and looked as it rubbed the inner case at one time... hence the spacers.

Anyone else see this before or maybe were to get a new fan. I hadn't started looking yet.

Just coming to vent here first as I'm a little upset with the guy that sold this to my grand daughter for not being forthcoming about apparent issues he had to know about. Such as this case fan problem, the plug threads stripped out shooting out the plug. Most lug bolts cross threaded on rear wheels. I guess I'm too honest of a guy and too trusting as I could never do that to someone. Especially a young mother with a two year old.

I feel for your grand daughter. I actually bought a GY6 that came out of a scooter that had an aluminum flywheel fan- just like yours it had fins broke off. The guy I got it from did tell me he tried to remove it by holding the fins so the motor wouldn't turn when removing the nut and broke them. I think the kick-start type come with that fan- I bet he used the wrong cover thus the washers. I agree about NON-informed individuals that don't disclose their mistakes before pawning off their lack of skills on someone else. They didn't look at forums like this for advise!! I buy "cheap" toys with the assumption that they screwed it up-that's why they're getting rid of it, so I'm not let down too much when it's all screwed up. Stripped bolts and a spark plug is the worst- you're not alone in the aggravation of ignorance. There's nothing common to common sense anymore. Good luck-hope that's the extent of it.
