jcl mg 150 a cvt cover removal / engine mount bracket remove

Hey buggy buddies, I was wondering if anyone with a jcl mg 150 a style buggy knew how to move the engine mount bracket so that the cvt cover could be completely removed for upgrades. Basically the part where the exhaust connects to this bracket is in the way, I've tried removing the exhaust but it only allows slightly more wiggle room, but still not enough to completely get it off, to say, upgrade the clutch or variator.

It looks pretty straight forward. remove muffler than the 8 or however many bolts to the side cover.

No, because once the muffler is off, the hanger from which the muffler is hung is still in the way, I need to know how to remove the entire bracket (that the motor and exhaust are mounted on) properly.

That looks like a nasty bugger to deal with. probably better to disconnect the muffler, pull your wiring plugs, pop the master on the chain and pull the engine vs trying to disassemble the frame.

That one is a bit different then most. I agree on pulling the engine would be easier. By the looks of it, the top 'halo' would need to be removed anyway to get that bar out of the way.

i posted this on BN for you too. ive had to work on these and suggest you cut the bar and rework the exhaust to mount on the cover . makes this easier for the future.
here's a pic of what i did to the same buggy for an idea. the difference is i had to make him a new exhaust so i just made the exhaust to fit which helped. but it can be done w/ a stock exhaust to the cvt cover too.

That looks pretty good, I think I like the idea of mounting to cvt cover, but I dont know where to start, do you have any links to a how-to for that? Thanks again!

there is a round indent on the side of the cover where a kickstarter would go through. normally that is where they put the exhaust mounts on the buggies. it looks like you do not have a hole there. i would drill it a 1/2" and use a long 1/2" bolt as the hanger. stick the bolt through the hole (head inside, threads out). i would use a bolt w/ no shoulder that has threads all the way up. use a nut to keep it stout to the cover. then youll have to make a bracket that bolts to your exhausts existing holes and drill a hole for the new stud to go through use washers or something to fill the gap between the nut you put on the outside of the cover to the exhaust bracket you made. throw a nut on the outside and tighten it up.
