A couple new Pilot video's

I made these today when I went out for a short ride.

Awesome man looks like a great time. Dang I really need to get out and ride as well.

You just don't know HOW much I envy those of you that live in that part of the country. so much room! Ya'll think of trails in terms of miles or travel hours, while us east coaster's think in terms of yards or minutes. I would jump for the chance to point a buggy down a trail, burn through a whole tank of gas WITHOUT running loops over the same piece of real estate a dozen times.

P.s. I like your taste in music. that's plain ol' fashion travelin music

Couldn't imagine a better place for a Pilot.

Rarerat 12-12-2010 05:36 PM

Thanks guys. I am very lucky to have this riding spot only 30 minutes from my home. The place is huge, you can ride all day and never hit the same trail twice. I didn't even hit any of the big sand hills in these video's, I was riding by myself yesterday when I made these videos so I held back and stayed off the big stuff. There is any & every kind of terrain out here for every kind of riding style from river bottoms, to huge sand hills, to rocks, to endless whoops & everything in between. This would be the ultimate place for a big buggy get together.

Thanks again,
Nick

incredible vid's and area to play.I'm with you Buggymaster-No doubt that's what the Pilot was made for!

Nice videos. Boy I wish I had warmer weather and could get out and ride.

It was such a beautiful day today I snuck off after lunch for a quick ride out at the Rio Puerco. I was just out there by myself but still had a great time although all those sand hills kicked my butt today, I can normally climb almost everything out there with the Pilot but couldn't hardly get up anything today. It has been so stinking dry around here, there is just zero traction in all that deep sand. :(

Here is part 1, I will post part 2 as soon as it is uploaded.

Enjoy...

How did the one turn over so easily by just running up on the embankment?

That is a good question. :dunno: I looked away for a few seconds and the next thing I see is him on his lid. The driver of the Pilot was from Florida and I only met him about an hour earlier that day. He and 2 other guys from Florida flew down to meet up with a Dan from Colorado that owned all 4 of the Pilots they were riding.

In this pic, the far right Long Travel Pilot belongs to my good friend Steve, and the one with the flag next to it is mine. The other 4 Pilots in the pic were Dan's, the guy from Colorado and he and his friends were all on vacation just traveling across the southwest looking for fun places to ride. I think the guy hat rolled the Pilot in front of me was extremely new to buggys, because honestly he was barely moving and I still cant believe he flipped it. :buttkick: Unfortunately later that day, the one with the bent White front bumper in the middle of the other 2 long travels blew a motor about 5 miles down in the canyon and had to be towed out.:banghead: if I had been thinking that day, I would have offered to trade him my good running FL350 Odyssey for the broken Pilot, since they were so far from home and needed an extra machine. There is a pretty big price difference between Odysseys and Pilots and I have really been wanting to add another pilot to my fleet. :D

Incredible machines, amazing to see thay many pilots together. Has your daughter graduated to the 350 Ody yet?

Yes, she rides it when we all go out as a family. My youngest daughter & I usually ride the Yerf and my wife rides the Pilot. I keep telling my oldest daughter I'd like to sell the 350 Ody and replace it with another Pilot, but she claims she prefers the Ody to the Pilot, but I really I think she is just scared of the Pilot.

She has ridden my Pilot a couple times and since it has an aftermarket rack & Pinion on it, it takes a bit more muscle to turn it over just the stock Tie Rod set up, so I think that might also be another reason she claims she doesn't like it. But Honestly in my heart, I know that even though the Pilot is faster, it is a much safer machine over the Ody because it handles so much better, & is much more forgiving when that something unexpected happens.

Eventually, if my daughters stay interested in the buggy's I would like to pick up 3 more Pilots so the whole family will have one, but since my youngest is only 6 it will be a while.
