yerfdog 3203 new eng. question

I'm wondering how hard it would be to put a ce 125 motor on this cart? I have a guy that has one for 250 dollars.I don't know if axle would be strong enough I know back of frame would have to be strengthened .any advice would help.

I'm working on a phone for internet can't figure out how to post pics. Yet lol.but the engine doesn't come with anything except the motor itself.I know I've since read that with the chain drive being on the right on the motor and the sprocket on the left would be a hard install.don't know if you could just flip the axle around to put sprocket to the right.I've been looking into a few motor choices briggs 8 HP,Honda 6.5 ,clone6.5 don't know if they would make enough difference over tecumseh 6.5 though so was looking into cr125 motor.I just want a little more power and maybe 40 mph.

I'll throw out and opinion- Cr125 is a very torquey engine, about 40+ hp- that's ALOT of power for a 3203 chassis. The axle is probably strong enough assuming you have shocks that can help soak up some of that torque and depending how you get the chain down to the axle sprocket. The kart isn't very heavy duty and way too narrow for any real fun at the possible 50+ mph it will achieve with 11,000 rpm and multiple gears. Swingarm "Will" have to be lengthened some to get the exhaust out of your back and the rack will cause an obstruction for the kick start. It's defintely do-able. The whole frame will need re-enforcement not just the back.Good luck and definitely post pics

Your Tecumseh 6.5 put's out good power for very little money. some choices for some additinal speed would be -
6" driven instead of 7" unit it should've come with
slightly less tooth axle sprocket.
Our 3203 did 35mph (gps verified) with just the driven unit change.
I personally didn't want it to go any faster thru the trails as it was too light and bouncey.
to post pics "go advanced"- "manage attachments" pick a file from your computer, phone, camera. "upload"
