TM 150 won't start

I've been trying to get my daughter's TM150 going for the spring/summer. I cranked it a few times during the winter and let it idle for a bit just to prevent this kind of issue. The motor will turn over and give a sputter like it's trying to start, but just won't crank. If I put gas straight into the carb, it'll start and run until the gas burns up. I replaced the fuel filter and spark plug, but still no dice.
I don't think the gas has gone bad, I'm wondering if there's just trash in the tank or fuel line? I'm thinking about just draining the tank and putting in new gas, maybe checking the lines. Or could it be a choke issue?
Just need some advice on the "usual suspects" for the problem.

I'd drain the fuel tank. Clean the carb and jets. Use fresh premium gas. And then make sure it's getting fuel to the carb. And then go from there.
I always use Sta-Bil and Amaco 93 in my gas cans so it gets used in all my gas operated engines. If I'm not going to use a machine for a while, I'll usually turn the fuel petcock off and let the engine run until all the gas is used in the lines and carb. Or if the tank is low enough, I'll let it run out the rest of the fuel before storage.

Great storage tips EVILWS6. If Gummerfan's buggy was running before the winter and it runs with fuel poured into the carb, then somethings gummed up in the line or maybe where the fuel petcock valve screws into the tank. First disconnect the fuel line where it connects to the base of the petcock and see if fuel will drain from the tank through the petcock. The Chinese stock rubber lines breakdown and could clog internally.

There's also a screen tube inside the tank that might be gummed up or clogged.

Definitely get rid of last years fuel.

If the fuel you are using has ethanol it lasts about 2-3 weeks before it starts going bad. I would first try draining tank, pulling carb to clean. Use fresh gas from the pump. Better yet go to pure-gas.org, scroll to bottom of page and click your state 2 letter abbreviation. Find the station nearest you that has the pure gas. Premium gas will only be a waste of money if it has ethanol in it, plus the stock buggy will see no benefit in using premium. 86 octane is fine just use ethanol free gas. Expect to pay around .20 cents per gallon more. Add some stabilizer to the fuel and it will last 6 months or more. Doing the same to ethanol blended fuel will only extend fuel life a couple 2-3 weeks.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the info! Got her running today! Managed to get it done without taking off the carb! Checked all the lines, fresh gas, LOTS of Sea Foam and Gumout. I also noticed the manifold clamp was pretty loose, don't know if it was enough to cause a vacuum problem or anything.
I normally ride the bigger, heavier TM300XRX, I'd forgotten how much fun whipping around in the little 150 is. :-D.
