Kinky timing chain
 

Since the holidays are here and I have time, I tore down the buggy engine. I was having a problem with the timing chain jumping teeth and thought it was stretched. After removing the culprit I discovered that a lot of the links were binding and not letting the chain roll around the crank gear and cam gear. I've worked on a lot of engines and have never seen this. So tomorrow I'll order a new chain and gasket set. Need to get it done in case it ever snows this winter 'cause I luv power sliding it around. (showin my age, it's called "drifting" now).:D

Sounds like the engine had set for sometime without any oil?

Also, maybe the sprockets wore on it and changed the pitch or something.
