Help ! Before it's too late !
Spring is here , almost , and I'm already getting bitten by the Buggy Bug . Guy has a 2008 Dazon 250 Raider Classic on my local C.L. Low hours , never out of his yard , supposedly like new , but priced kinda high . I already know all the 150 vs. 250 rationalities . My question is regarding parts availability , reliability , known common problems , etc. Lazy right now and don't want to work for my education . I'm always suspicious of the 250's , especially transmissions and C.V.shafts . Thanks .

If possible post some pics. I do know up until 2007 the Dazon 250 raider was made by Sonic the same company that made the Blade 250 xt, but had the dual chain drive independent rear suspension. Does this buggy have the high low range? In 2008 Blade offered the 250 xtx which had the hi/low with shaft drive. It used the CF Moto 250 with integrated transmission. Joyner axles fit that model and both Hammerhead and Joyner used the same engine. Bottom line is if the Dazon uses the CF Moto 250 with hi/low parts will not be a problem.

Thanks for the response , good information . I texted the seller with the list of questions / waiting for some answers . I can't post pictures again for some reason :cussing: There's some pics of it on the Buffalo C.L. If I can get him to lower the price ( a lot ! ) and it's the right one I might jump on it . I gotta get the OLDGIRL in something with reverse , I'm tired of pushing and pulling the Spiderbox backwards . :buttkick: Thanks again .

BUMMER , got my answer's , No hi/lo , dual chain drive solid axle. .:blackeye:
|
Well it might be the CN-250 with external reverse. Parts are available for them as well. You just won't have the IR suspension. I was never crazy about the Hi/Lo due to having to stop and shift to low to climb a hill while everyone else keeps on going.

Well , don't think Dazon dude is gonna drop down to my price bracket , lesser Buggy's are on the same site similarly priced . Love the info. I'm an information sponge .
Speaking of information , for three years now I've been calling you Sy-Carms ( like Uncle Sy ) , Sick-Arms , and Sike-Arms . For the record which is the correct pronunciation . :stupid: |
SYC (sigh) Arms, and SYCPowersports

if its as clean as it looks, pics can be deceiving, it should be worth $1,500. so hes a little high but that's the room for negotiating.

I agree, if it is as good condition as shown and runs like new$1500.00 would be a good price, but only if it is in like new condition.

Most of the parts off a Hammerhead GT250 should fit that Dazon. It is the same model MancoMan drove, but a different color.

Thanks for the input fellers , sittin on the fence with this one , gonna fall off to one side or the other in a day or two . Relatively new posting , Already reduced the price in the ad as of yesterday :hail: Gonna keep my Poker face on a little bit longer . ( SURE HOPE HE'S NOT A MEMBER TO THIS FORUM ... DOH ) Same way when I found the K.C. Mister responded to my wanted ad , three years old with 10 hrs. on the meter ! $2500 , waited it out three week's ---- end result ...gave $1200 , included three helmets I sold for $125 = $1075 , DONE DEAL !   :drive:
|
In my defense regarding the K.C. deal , failed to mention that That 10hrs. must have been logged up going in a circle on Blacktop \ all four tires were beyond shot , had to do air filter upgrade , stock one was JUNK ! , fluid changes , and lube , front and rear winches , ( OK , WELL ... ) And now I have to get a motorcycle stereo for it because it didn't come equipped with it . Can you believe that ? :crying: :crying:
|
No stereo! I Wouldn't have bought it
|
I here ya , but it did come with a sunroof . :joke:
|
Actually it really did . Came with a full Plexiglas windshield , with a cage fitting contour two thirds of the way down , seemed pretty cool .....until you tried to drive it . Like a contorting lens / mirror in a fun house , little rocks on the trail were suddenly boulders , ravines were actually small ruts . Depending on where you were looking thru it changed everything . Needless to say windshield came off after first trail ride . Was about to put it on the shelf and noticed the top of cage had the same contour as the front . Fit like a glove --- windshield is now sun roof ! Great when slinging mud / not so great on sunny days - like a magnifying glass . Gotta put some window tint on it . I'll have to do a thread ; " TINTING THE WINDOWS ON MY BUGGY ". :laugh2:
