VIDEO: How to modify the clutch (variator and driven) on a GY6 150cc

Hey guys, we went ahead and implemented our clutch mods on the Helix. I recorded everything and thought I would share with others as to what goes on when you modify the clutch system on one of these. Hopefully they will help someone. It's really not that big of a job. Anyways, here are the vids in two parts:

P.S. ya...we did a track attack on it too. Going to verify tomorrow weather permitting just to verify the results before I post them.

My gasket ripped and i'm missing a piece what will happen if I ride it still?

BuggyMaster 09-04-2009 08:08 PM

Just try to put it back together as best you can. That gasket's purpose is to keep water/moisture out.

but theyre only a couple bucks lol

Which gasket were you referring to? The one inside the CVT cover?

If so, don't worry about it - EVERYONE's rips. It doesn't need to be perfect or intact (or even there, if you don't want it to be. There's no oil being thrown around in the CVT area, so there's no worry about a leak or anything.

Oh crap. I thought he was responding to the governor removal thread on a 6.5 hp clone engine and the case side cover. Adjusted post.
