large valve head

Thinking about getting the large valve head from syc. I would be using it on a trailmaster 150xrs. Any info on this would be great. I plan on calling syc about it tomorrow but I would like info from first hand users that have spent their hard earned money on it. Is the port and polish a good investment? Does it bolt on without mods or fab work? Is it worth the price over a stock head? Will it work ok without other mods? Any input from first hand users will be appreciated.

I'm happy with my set up but haven't went with a larger valve head. I did do a p&p myself and the Newfound power alone was pretty impressive. I'd say if you wanted to buy a larger valve head you should also go with a big bore kit. But even with doing that. It would require the engine case to be milled to accept the larger cylinder jug. It all adds up to $$$ you are willing to invest in your toy.

Thanks for the input. Those are some of the things I am curious about. I am not ready for a big bore kit yet.

I put the large valve head with p&p and milled from Syc. I put it on the stock jug and have been totally impressed with it. I say it is well worth the money I spent and let me tell ya it was HARD earned money. You will get an improvement with no other mods but not nearly as much as if you open the intake and exhaust. The new head will breath much better but if the rest of the intake and exhaust are still restricted then so is the new heads ability to deliver its best. There are some free and inexpensive ways to open up your intake and exhaust. Also adding an A12 cam for around $30 is well worth it. Have a look at the "gy6 150 most common mods" thread for some more info. And if you have any more ?s just ask.
