Is the GY6 150cc the long case or short case? Specifically the one in the Fox Helix.

Did they use both types? How do you know which one you have?

Help!

I purchased an after market GY6 engine to replace the engine on a chinese scooter, but the wire colors and connectors do not match those on my scooter. What can I do?

So, I have the same scenario. No spark. It never ran. I just got it. I have been doing a 3 day long trying to figure out where the black/red and Blue/yellow (from strator) go. It cranks and only a few times it started but doesn't keep running. I have a DC CDI. The blue/white is connected via bullet connector to the blue/yellow. Does the black/red go to CDI? I clipped all the "kill switches". I have checked all voltages. Can the cdi intermittently work? I also cleaned and sandpaper the contact on strator. I hope I don't look like trolling. The OP is closest I found to same. I was told it runs I haven't been with any luck. I just purchased a new cdi/spark plug wire but the cdi was AC not DC. So I still kept the spark plug wire.

Blk./red wire is not connected. Are you sure it is a spark problem and not a fuel problem?

COLDSTEEL 07-12-2018 11:28 PM

No fuel problems. Getting fuel. Confirmed it via spark plug hole. So, I do not need the black/red wire hooked to anything? Only the blue/yellow that connects to blue/white coming from CDI? I am just ruling out electrical.

The blk./red wire was used on the old ac system. Scroll to top of page and download the electrical manual and it will give you steps to trouble shoot.

OK, so being the Helix 150cc uses DC, I am assuming I don't need Black/Red hooked up to anything. I am confirming this became both the electrical schematics (above) and other pages I did my due dilligants all say it goes "Power to CDI". There is a mate to Blue/White that I have hooked up to Blue/Yellow (coming from stator). Just making sure I am not missing any wires. I am still having starting problems and I am troubleshooting each components.

SYCARMS 07-16-2018 09:40 AM

You have to read the t/s section for ignition. It says the b/r wire is not used for the cdi, it is used for testing purposes only. Read the instructions carefully for it tells you hoe to check with a volt ohm meter.
