My daughter was riding her kart yesterday and she said she was goin down the road and the motor just would rev up and not move. Is the drive belt the most likly thing that would go out. The cable moves when you go from foward to reverse and the cable moves the shifting lever on the tranmission, but it just revs up and does not move the kart. is there a way to tell if it is the belt without taking the cover off. Please tell me what you can Daughter wants it back up and running.:banghead:

It sounds like the belt- but removing the cover is the only way to verify- it's not that hard to pull the cover, plus it'll have to come off to replace the belt.

Call tom @SYC (Banner @ the top of the page) He can help you get the parts. You can change the drive sprocket or the axle sprocket. What's the tooth count that are on there now? It's possible the belt has been bad for awhile and didn't have any climbing ability due to that.

I took the belt cover off last night and it was torn up so it was the belt going to buy a new belt today and then see what kind of power I have. I don't know if I want to change the sproket yet just asking really don't know if I want speed or power most likley power. When I find out which one my daughter wants then I will call Tom thank you so much for your time and help
