GY6 150 Big Bore Kit????

Hey Guys, working on a trail master buggy with the GY6 150, and it has the internal reverse...I'm having to replace the piston and rings, so I thought while I'm doing that might as well put a big bore kit on this bad boy... What name brand do I need to look for, and what size can I get away with, without having to bore my case out?? Found a site that says a 58.5 is the largest you can go without boring ur case, but another site is saying you can put a 61mm on without boring ur case? I don't know? Any other ideas like a different crank, cam, should I have the heads ported? Probally a good idea to replace my timing chain too huh? :stupid: Any help will be greatly appreciated...

A good big valve head with bigger ports and stiffer valve springs will be a nice combo with a upgraded camshaft. You can also hand port the manifold a little bit. With the internal reverse you cant put a stroker crankshaft in but can bore it. Anything over 58.5 needs to be bored I believe there is a kit that's 61mm that's drop in but then the jug walls are supper thin your better off getting the case bored for a 61mm bore setup.

I went with the 58.5 as everyone said it was the safest and did not need additional machine work.

The big bore kit alone won't produce any more power. A performance head ported and polished correctly with a performance cam will wake that thing up.

Any suggestions for a good performance head and cam??
