Helix 150cc

Hello All,

Recently purchased Helix 150cc. Great kart. Only 1 problem took it in the sand trails and it didn't want to get up in go with 2 people in it. Had to get out and push it up hills and bogged around. Regular trails was better but still seemed like it had lack of power. 1 person was fast and power. Everything is stock. That normal for this kart with 2 people? If so, what type of mods should I do?

sand is harder to drive on-time for varitor mods

Varitor mods?

Depends on what you wanna spend, and since you posed the question of variator I'd spend a fair amount of time studying a manual on your engine and familiarize yourself with all the inner workings. That being said they are fairly easy to work on, but you gotta be willing to spend the time researching what you have sitting before you.

Ya I haven't had a chance to look over the manual yet. But am definitly going to.

How big are the riders?

We both weigh around 185.

in your varitor are weights-lighter wts=more low end torque power higher wts=more top
end. i run 12 gram sliders with a 1500 spring [12 gram sliders =10 gram rollers but with more top end]. i used to run 10 gram sliders but rev's were really high[equal to 8 rollers]
i am alot more pleased with 12 gram more top end can't tell any loss of low end but my gy6 has lots of mods. 10 or 11 rollers or 12 sliders would help you in sand

Gotcha. Looks like I will be getting some mods soon then cause I do alot of sand riding. Thanx for the info.
