Yep. 130 hp gsxr 600 motor + one yerfdog = a complete monster. Starting the teardown this Thanksgiving break, hopefully have it finished by the end of December for the snow! Hopefully Ill have some pics of the build up this weekend. Yeah i know its gonna take some work, but thats the fun of it haha. Heres what Im starting with:

Love the enthusiasm. You're a brave man!!! The formula will more likey go : 130hp gsxr 600 motor + one Yerfdog = tears of joy, bald tires - then reality = disintegration of Yerdog chassis!! Have you inspected your chassis currently for cracks? The 150cc beats them up at 8-12hp.Please keep us posted on your build and video of it's maiden voyage.

Thanks man! and yea, planning on getting some cheap atv wheels/ tires for the winter, would have absolutely no grip in snow without em haha. There aren't any cracks currently, but seeing as most of the buggy would have to be taken apart(again) anyway I was planning on reinforcing the whole chassis, hubs etc. And btw, love that custom buggy you're building!

metalstudman1 11-23-2010 05:29 PM

The bald tire comment had to do with -you're building a tire burner!!!!

joshstep1 11-25-2010 08:52 AM

Wow dude. That thing is going to be crazy!

kartkidbirel 11-25-2010 10:32 AM

Haha thanks man. As I always say, "If you can control it, it probably needs more power!"

roysheepdog 11-25-2010 08:30 PM

cool,it should pull the front tires off the ground.
irs or swing arm?

metalstudman1 11-25-2010 09:32 PM

I'm mean't to ask if you got all the electrical components with your motor?

kartkidbirel 11-25-2010 10:54 PM

To make it run yes, not all the wiring for the bike like lights, blinkers etc. I have halogen fog lights on it already, with speakers and such but ill probably hook that up to a seperate battery or something.

kartkidbirel 11-25-2010 10:54 PM

And roysheepdog, what was your question?

roysheepdog 11-26-2010 10:23 AM

the buggy has a swing arm that the motor sits on.were you going to put the 600 on that or build a new rear end with independent rear suspension(irs)?

kartkidbirel 11-27-2010 06:42 PM

Ahh alright. Im planning on building a new housing on the existing swing arm, and just putting on stiffer shocks to stop the engine getting thrown around so much. Im hoping it'll be strong enough, but only time will tell haha.

You are completely and utterly insane. I have no idea why you would even attempt something like this. With the knowledge of a 12 year old(which you probably are), there is no way you can build a kart that will withstand the power of a 600cc gsxr engine meant for an almost 200 mph bike. I advice you start on something smaller, like a 250cc from an atv or larger kart. Much safer and will still get you through the snow in as fun a way as you can imagine. Just take my advice as I don't want to see you end up in a tree after spinning out at 60 mph in a kart not meant for those speeds(this saying if you even get the thing built).

Sheckells29 11-30-2010 06:51 PM

Wait a second, we have the same kart!

BuggyMaster 11-30-2010 09:49 PM

well there was the guy that put the KZ900 engine on the carter....Do be very careful though.

metalstudman1 12-01-2010 12:24 AM

Vator did a great job on his buggy- The build is do-able!!! But a Spiderbox ain't a Talon structurally.I'm just warning that the Yerfdog is going to need lots of beefing up to withstand the torque. If my wife was more of a speed demon I'd have put something else other than the GY6 150 in her's.(I've offered multiple times)

roysheepdog 12-01-2010 06:47 AM

if a 1100 will work on a go kart it will work on your buggy.

if you have some thing faster or better than other people you will have haters.
imo the more haters the better the buggy!lol

kartkidbirel 12-01-2010 05:07 PM

Yea haha, im planning on reinforcing the chassis a lot, itll take a lot of work but it'll be awesome when its finished. Just trying to find the time and tear it down.
