question on replacing factory vacumm petcock with an inline manual
I have heard that replacing the factory vacumm petcock and putting in a inline would be an improvement.
Could someone give me a link to the proper manual petcock or what I need to look for as far as thread. I have a ASM carbide 150. Currently the cart starts but lacks much power. It will take off but I thought that if you floored it the wheels would spin and throw dirt. I am taking this to have my cousin work on it, what mods are the best bang for the buck and what should be tried first? |

this is manual shut off on my gk-13 i had a manual before but broke it
i used a 3/8 ball valve & a 3/8 barb plus teflon tape-works great |
Changing the petcock will not improve engine power. Most people change it out only when the one they have becomes stopped up and fuel flow is no longer happening. As far as what mods are the best bang for your buck. start with the uni mod, rejet the carb, and open the exaust. These are the least expensive to do first. Then you can do varaitor/clutch mods and go from there. My buggy has tons of mods and doesnt spin the tires when I take off, It will climb a heck of a hill though.

alot of times when you do mods to the engine and cvt the carb will need more fuel than the vacum style can provide

Unless you do some heavy engine mods or your pump fails, there is no need to replace it. When you get to the heavy engine mods you will have to deal with the delivery of more fuel. The stock pump puts out the same volume as the stock petcock valves. If your pump fails at some point you can install an inline valve.
