helix wreck

my stupid uncle crashed my helix!!!!! now it sounds worse ,and it doesnt start!!! for some reson the whole engine was coverd in oil... then it starts right up , inoticed it made a funny sound. then it just died!! it never started up after that. i looked at the oil and it was all gone. i kept looking for un-normal things, i find a tube has a big hole in it (ill post some pics later...) but after they crashed it just ran fine....now ,not so much.....:-/ if any body could help with ideas on how to seal a leak that would be great.... and would super glue work?

Xrims 09-24-2009 07:39 PM

I would need some pics to help you i have run some endurance races and have gotten good at keeping things runnin to finish so with some pics maybe able to help u(steel puddy works wonders)

foxracer45 09-24-2009 07:46 PM

its just that this is my first major problem lol

24evanwilson 09-24-2009 07:54 PM

pics would help a lot

BuggyMaster 09-24-2009 08:45 PM

Doesn't sound good. Depends on which tube has the hole in it. Did he roll it over?

foxracer45 09-25-2009 06:18 AM

3 times...

BuggyMaster 09-25-2009 10:31 AM

Man that sucks. Hope he is ok. Ya man...we definately need pics. Would really like to see how well it held up (or not) to rolling.

booda72 09-25-2009 11:52 AM

that sucks, if you guys want to see one that has been rolled, look at mine. It has been rolled 3 times and none of them by me.

24evanwilson 09-25-2009 03:28 PM

mine has been rolled once by partly drunk people that i didnt want to ride so i got on the 400 to chase em down but it was tooooo late, right when i was about to get them slowed down......but no.... boom it happened right in front of me

booda72 09-25-2009 04:04 PM

the last time for mine was also by a drunk person at a 4th of july party. He took a hard left turn at full throttle. Front right wheel dug into the ground and the rear left went up over the top. He went over three times. I had a windsheild on it then. Needless to say that shattered, also popped the rear driver side tire off the rim. filled the tire back up and went back to riding.

foxracer45 09-25-2009 05:42 PM

!!! is he ok?

24evanwilson 09-25-2009 06:12 PM

god o( o_O

BuggyMaster 09-25-2009 07:04 PM

Here's one of the pics from foxracer:

http://www.buggymasters.com/forum/pi...&pictureid=299

Looks like a busted hose, not really a tube. Is it in fact rubber?

BuggyMaster 09-25-2009 07:05 PM

By the way, I'll have to look at ours but I believe that is a vent tube and when it was upside down, all your oil from your engine went out it.

Will it turn over at all now? Make sure you put oil back in it before you try. May have locked up on you.

24evanwilson 09-25-2009 07:24 PM

MINE looks fine. i use 20w-50 motorcycle oil, works great

foxracer45 09-25-2009 09:25 PM

@buggymaster ,sorry forgot to quote message in reply.
well for some reson when they had it upside down it came back covered in oil, i think your right! now i noticed the air-filter is like drenched soaking wet with gas or oil, maby its a carb problem?.?.? oh the rubber tube or hose it has cuts like a zebra all around the bottom and its soaking wet too.

BuggyMaster 09-25-2009 09:27 PM

well will it turn over at all? (not necessarilly start but will it turn over when you turn the key?)

24evanwilson 09-25-2009 09:34 PM

ewww this is bad

booda72 09-25-2009 09:37 PM

the guy that wrecked mine is fine but he will never drive it again.

foxracer45 09-25-2009 09:38 PM

yeah it stays on for about 2 seconds then dies.

24evanwilson 09-25-2009 09:38 PM

booda72 09-25-2009 09:39 PM

could it be clogged or did it just drain from the holes?

booda72 09-25-2009 09:40 PM

do these engines have a low fuel sensor like on some generators. did you check and refill the oil.

there is a very low amount of oil from the leak but the gas is fine..

24evanwilson 09-27-2009 02:16 PM

wen you go to start it does it pulse at all?

foxracer45 09-27-2009 02:49 PM

I GOT TO RUN!!!!!! the fule filter was clogged for some reson....and the oil was just REALLY dirty. so i fixed it up and now it works!!!:)

24evanwilson 09-27-2009 03:39 PM

yay awesome !!

BuggyMaster 09-27-2009 08:40 PM

they'll take a likin and keep on going! Glad to hear it's back running.

24evanwilson 09-28-2009 02:39 PM

yeah lol

foxracer45 09-28-2009 04:38 PM

and its clogged again....

24evanwilson 09-28-2009 07:49 PM

whhhyyy?

bige 09-29-2009 04:07 AM

take a look in the fuel tank, some trash might have gotten in there. might have to pull the tank and flush it out

foxracer45 09-29-2009 06:04 AM

well i took the tubes out of the fuel tank and nothing it dripping or coming out...

bige 09-29-2009 07:20 AM

is fuel coming out?

BuggyMaster 09-29-2009 10:07 AM

Ya, how do you know that it is clogged?

foxracer45 09-29-2009 01:42 PM

no fuel is coming out and its filled to the top.

BuggyMaster 09-29-2009 01:44 PM

Well, here's how that thing works. Where the fuel line connects to the bottom of the fuel tank, there are two lines. The upper line is what goes to the carburetor. The lower line goes to a vaccuum T. Is yours hooked up like that?

bige 09-29-2009 02:13 PM

if it is hooked up like that then crank the engine over and see if there is fuel comeing from the top hose

foxracer45 09-29-2009 04:55 PM

yeah but if thats not the problem what is?

foxracer45 10-04-2009 06:40 PM

it turns out the fuel petcock was broken and it never gave any fuel to the engine....

24evanwilson 10-04-2009 06:41 PM

waaaaat???

foxracer45 03-03-2010 06:58 PM

the thing that sends the fuel into the engine

olderthan 03-03-2010 10:16 PM

while you are fixing the petcock
take the uni off clean it let dry over night
then reoil it
