The SAME exact thing came loose in my muffler, twice. The worst part was the first replacement did the same thing to me after just a month of running with it. I'm currently exchanging emails with ASW to see if I can get a free replacement on what must be a defected muffler. The original muffler's baffle plate came loose too after about three years of running.
