They are likely actually 30 series clutches. Some of them just say 20 on them and are misread as being a 20 series. Generally speaking if the machine came with a torque converter setup, it was done for a reason and going to a straight clutch would likley burn clutches up quickly. A lot of the times you can take the torque converters apart and clean then really well, usually with a wire brush, and you can get by with them. A lot of them that I have seen will have the little brass bushing that sits on the drive clutch missing. If they are small go karts with the smaller wheels you may be able to get by with a straight clutch setup but you may lose your off roading capabilities.
