you could regear and make it work but the cost of a custom set of gears woud be more than the wheels cost not including the time and labor to make it work. Plus, with large diameter wheels you would have to offset the fronts so the wheelwon't scub the frame when turning.This could mean new spindles or spacers too. Wouldn't it make more sense to simply get the correct size in the first place?
A 10 inch wheel with a tire circumferance of 22 to 23 inches for the rear is about max you can go without causing problems. 18 t0 19 inches on the front. There are some who run a 25inch tire. for ground clearance. These buggys have modified suspinsions with lots of lowend power and not alot of top speed. They are used for climbing rough mountain terrain.
