Hardly, I deal with misconception and blind acceptance on a daily basis, you have to if you're going to "re-translate" poorly translated Chinese nomenclature, to American terminology.
Just because an item is called a "stop" and used as a generalized translation, usually by a Chinese, that knows nothing about engines, and less about American engine nomenclature, doesn't make it gospel. Though, as we see in this example, it is accepted as such. And with an inability imposed on us to direct those unable to grasp such a theory with outside links, this site will continue to labor behind those where a wealth of info flows daily.
A chinese manual or publication of any kind, PDF, etc, has HUNDREDS of poor item descriptions, nomenclature, translations, to take those that appear suspicious, and overtly tag American definitions to their function, by name alone, is simply ludicrous.
