You might be able to change one tooth smaller without really sacrificing low end. If you gear too 'tall' for speed, you will be slipping the clutch and it will wear out a lot faster. How much speed are you looking for?

My recommendation is to change the sliders in your CVT, go with heavier sliders, that will engage at a lower engine RPM, resulting in increased top speed, but you will still lose some bottom end.
