Parking brake should work, yes
Engine dieing at WOT is NOT GOOD!!! 2 strokers require fuel to cool the piston. When you run lean (lack of fuel) piston gets hot and erodes away. Classic sign of this is a hole in the top of the piston.
Make sure your fuel pump is up to snuff.
