Welcome-
I'm sure you've already checked the float valve,if the float valve & seat are good it shouldn't flood.I check mine by blowing into the main fuel line to hear if air is getting by.The little spring loaded valve in the top of the float valve is important for making a complete seal.Does that carb. have a removable float valve seat? Does any fuel leak out the overflow port?Is the FEV working? If the fuel enrichment valve is stuck open it'll cause a flooding issue. I've run a 2-6psi pump before with very few issues,I did have one that filled the crankcase with fuel! I can't think of anything else other than finding another tank & location you can mount for gravity feed.
