Most carbides come with a 114 main and 34 pilot. Even for a stock engine they are too small and if you do some test runs with a new plug and shut the engine off at w.o.t. you will most likely find it is running lean. The factory installs the smaller jets to meet emmission standards. A 120 main and slightly larger pilot might solve the problem for good. The size is stamped on the top or side of the jets. Replacing the vaccum petcock with a fuel shut-off is a good idea. It's just a problem waiting to happen.
