The 7A battery should be able to turn over your engine if it was fully charged and your power and ground leads are clean.

Try taking jumper cables directly from the battery to the starter to eliminate the possibility of bad wiring or solenoid. If it still does not crank, measure the battery voltage while connected - Anything bellow 10VDC under load, the battery is not charged or it is faulty. If the battery voltage is fine, make sure the engine can be spun over by hand and has no damage. In this case, your starter may be worn and needs to be replaced.
