I will take a buggy over an ATV any day. Last year in Missouri I had only brought my Joyner 250 and the splines on the variator stripped out so it put the buggy out of commission. One of the guys let me ride with him in his Ranger the first half of the ride then he told me to drive the second half. The 4 wheel drive was great since you did not have to gun it going through deep water and my feet up to my waist kept dry on that 60 degree day which was much welcome. But I really missed the buggy. I would take the buggy over the UTV any day.
