performance cdi
I bought a "performance CDI" at a scooter shop. It is to fit my 150 hammerhead. I also got got a chinese labled "performance coil". The shop said that the CDI will keep the motor from over speeding although now everything I read seems to read that performance cdis have no rpm limiter. The CDI is larger than the stock one, is not adjustable, and has a gold case with a Casoli moto lable. I don't know how one would check what full throttle rpm would need to be at or how to set that if this won't keep from over speeding. Some information I have read on similar looking CDI state they go to about 9000rpm and I have read that the GY6 is designed for 12000 rpm limit. Please help my poor understanding.

I also am concerned that one might be a dc and one an ac although I watched on monster gy6 that dc is usually larger and has only one wire in the 2prong side. I have only one wire but it is small. the casoli is much larger and has more wires. Actually as you can see, I have 2and 1 on mine and the casoli has 4 and two. Pictures may help and the engine family...

According to the wiring diagram of my hammerhead. The single wire on the two prong side is going to the ignition hence, dc. I still don't know what the shop sold me as to ac or dc.
