Default Gy6 150 smokes until warm

I have a 2014 Trailmaster 150. Last week it started smelling funny so I checked the oil and it was super low. I put some new in there and it smokes pure blue smoke until warm. Did I mess up the rings

Cool

Only your compression gauge knows for sure , smelled funny - like a metallic smell - overheated ?

Idk it just smelled funny. I was thinking if the rings would have went out while the oil was low it was leak all the time. After 1-2 minuets the smoke goes away and there is no smell of burning oil.

You got worn valve guides, Oil seeps into the cylinder from around the valve stem.

Okay. Now everything comes together. I bought a cheap air filter off amazon and I took it off yesterday and there was dirt all over the inside of the air tube. It barely cranks now so I know the carb needs cleaning and I'm sure the head is gunked up. Thanks for the help

Scored cylinder walls from the dirt too!

I'm gona slip in a 155cc kit and big valve head while I'm at it. I'm sure I have lost a good bit of compression too cause it's real hard to start.

Make sure to port match the new head to the intake manifold and exhaust. There is a good amount of performance to be had from doing that. The factory casting is pretty rough normally.

I'm getting a taida bolt-on 61mm bbk and taida big valve head for Christmas. What kind and size carb would you recommend for that setup. I know for sure my rings are bad cause it's always burning oil and I might as well add 20 cc while Im in the engine that far.

From what I have read/heard the stock carb is fine as long as you rejet it.
