Default Hello from Indiana

Hello

I am new to the forum and new to buggy's in general. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible and interacting with everyone.

I just bought a used buggy as a project for my daughter and I. I'm going to need to find some parts for it (possibly the forward/reverse gearbox, brakes, etc.), but so far I haven't been able to determine who manufactured it. Does it look familiar to anyone or does anyone know who might have made it? So far I have only been able to find a serial number tag (please see attached pics - hopefully they attached correctly). I believe that it has a GY6 motor in in, although I'm not sure of the displacement.

Thanks for any help that anyone might have.

Thanks!
Patrick

Thats the serial number for the buggy.

The factory size of the engine will be on the engine

First time to see one like that. No clue as to what it is or who made it. At one time Manco made the FOX but did not resemble yours. It could be a really early version since Manco was making buggies before the craze hit in 2005. Post some pics of the engine and transmission.

It looks like a gy6 that is turned around backwards, from what I'm used to seeing at least. Also looks like the fan shroud is missing. If thats the case you don't want to drive it until that is replaced as it will cause the engine to overheat.

Thank you for your replies! I found the engine serial number, and as decoded it's a 150cc Linhai GY6. The motor does appear to be mounted the other direction as most other buggys that I've seen. Yes, the fan shroud and some of the ignition was taken off by the previous owner, which I have. I will definitely be sure that the shroud is back on before trying to fire it up. Thanks for the advice.

Here are some more pics that will hopefully be more clear. The head of the engine is at the rear of the buggy, then the drive off of the engine is behind the seats, feeding the gearbox. Then the gearbox has a sprocket for the chain to the rear axle.

Thanks for your help!

That's an interesting engine setup for sure.

I kinda like the frame on it with the fenders built in. Sure beats the ones most have that look like an afterthought and hang out to get hung one everything.
