Default 150 trailmaster shift problem (works fine if you turn off/on the engine)

Just got a trailmaster 150x. Occasionally it will not go into Forward gear or it would grid if it did. I adjusted the F/R cables, but it didn't fix the problem. I still have some adjusting to do becuse my Netural is now reverse.

But I found out when it will not go into the forward gear, all I have to do is turn the engine off and then it goes into drive very easy, then I just start and go.

I didn't adjust the idle yet, but I dont think it sounds high.

Any ideas of what the problem is?

Get the shift cable adjusted correctly, and then I'd still turn down the idle just to make sure that isn't the issue.
The idle being to high has been the issue for a couple of friends who have bought buggies in the past with a similar problem with the gearbox not engaging correctly.

I will give that a try and post an update. Thanks

PS anybody know where I can find a service manual on this? I found a parts manual which is helpful, but not a service.

If it's not idling high...is it possible that there's a broken spring in the first stage (engine end) of the cvt? Had that happen on a snowmobile a long time back...

I had this exact problem too. My idle was too high so maybe the clutch is partially engaging and not stopping the tranny.
