Default Talon 150cc charging

Guys, How do I check the charging system on a Carter 150cc. I have found that if I kkep the battery charged it will run. But after a few days the battery will go dead and the buggy will not start. I started it and check the boltage at the battery. It was 12.30 running. I rev it up and it did not change. This tells me that it is not charging. My question is where do I start? regulator? or stator? I suspect the stator because everything I do is the hard way. How do I check the stator to see if it is charging without buying one? And how to check the regulator?

I dont have wiring diagrams so I dont know which wires should be hot and whcih ones shouldn't be.

as long as the battery is charged the buggy runs good. But it is not charging

Hello,
Im new to the forum. I had the same issue with my ASW 150cc BD-200 UTV. I replaced the regulator and it fixed my issue. I know there's video's on YouTube on testing the charging systems, i believe you get AC voltage out of the stator and the regulator converts it to DC while it's running.
Hope this helps,
